Root canal treatment is a procedure to remove infected or damaged tissue from inside your tooth. It is usually required when the nerve of a tooth has been injured or has died, and can help to preserve your natural teeth and prevent the need for extraction.
At Dental Paradiso, our experienced dentists will use the latest technology and techniques to minimise your discomfort during this procedure. We strive to provide a caring and comfortable experience for our patients, from start to finish.

How do I know if I need root canal treatment?
Dental root canal therapy becomes necessary if you are diagnosed with infected or diseased pulp. When a pulp gets a bacterial infection, it begins to die, and the infection continues to spread. The treatment also becomes necessary if you have a deep cavity, cracked tooth, or severe infection.
Below are some symptoms that suggest that you need a root canal treatment:
- A chipped or cracked tooth
- Teeth decay or discolouration of teeth and gum
- Swollen gums
- Pimples on the gum
- Persistent teeth sensitivity to hot or cold food and drinks
- Pain when chewing or biting
What to expect during the treatment?
Root canal procedures are as follows:
Diagnosis
This is the first step in root canal therapy. Our root canal specialist will look at the affected area – infected tooth or cavity – and study the extent of the damage. For the most accurate results, we will do a dental x-ray of your teeth.
Extraction of infected pulp
After understanding the spread of the infection, we take out the infected pulp and clean the canal(s). We also reshape and rejuvenate the channel while simultaneously adding anti-inflammatory medicine.
Filling the void
The final step in root canal treatment is filling the void to prevent new bacteria from entering the canals. In some cases, we may recommend some oral antibiotics to help with this.
Note: The duration of a root canal therapy varies and generally depends on the severity of your condition. The treatment usually takes between one to three sessions but could take additional time depending on your personal needs.

When performing root canals here at Dental Paradiso, we always use precision instruments and aim to preserve as much as possible of your original tooth. We will also clean and disinfect the tooth to heal back to its natural state without pain or discomfort.
